Landscapes – If you have a particular favourite place that you would like painting, feel free to contact me to discuss.
For the Pet Portraits -I work from photographs of your animal; it is best if there are a few to look at first, which can then be narrowed down and maybe combined, if you have a face angle which is best but the body looks better on another one.
Eye detail is important, therefore, if it is possible to take using natural light this is best; avoid strong sunlight as this creates strong shadow areas. Where possible try and take the picture at the same height as the animal, to avoid a strange perspective.
If sadly you can no longer take pictures of your pet, send me the ones you have and I will do my best to create a portrait from them. I am available to take photographs myself; I would just add a mileage charge to the commission.
You can either email or post the photographs, all original photographs will be returned with completion of the portrait.
Framing Service
Rather than offering cheap ready-made picture frames, I want the pictures to look the best they can do, so I offer a full framing service.
I use a local craftsman framer, who has a good technical expertise and an extensive range of frames in stock. If you have seen a specific frame, please, send a photo and I will do my best to source something similar as below is just a selection which I like to use.
Some portrait artists only offer one kind of frame but I think it is important to give the client the choice and also choose something that is suitable to the painting.
Below are a few examples of framed works.

I am based in Halifax and was looking at your site recently with a view to getting a portrait done of our dacshound dog. How does the costing work, what is the current lead time, i see from the postcard flyer i have prices from £100, how do you quote for them/can I pop in to see your studio?
